Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)

Position: Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) / Safety Officer
Functional Group: Quality & HSSE Assurance Functional Group
Base location: Singapore (at various site locations per project requirement, typically in the West)
Local travelling: Required.
Overseas travelling: Local and overseas regional travel (ASEAN) may be needed as per project requirement.

Overview

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer is a safety professional responsible for protecting lives and preventing harm to property and the environment. WSHOs support the organisation's WSH procedures by conducting safety checks to ensure compliance with organisational and legal standards.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in WSH oil & gas or petrochemical facilities projects.

• Certifications: MOM registered WSHO license. QEHS Internal Auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is significantly advantageous.

• Technical Knowledge: ISO knowledge and implementation. Familiar with local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site-specific EHS policies and procedures.

• Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification ensure high-risk work is properly controlled.

• Ensure compliance with local EHS regulations and facilitate regulatory inspections.

• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.

• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections provide EHS training (fire drills, first aid, PPE, hazardous materials).

• Maintain and test emergency response plans ensure site readiness.

• Reports to: HSSE Manager and Project Manager

Salary Range: +/- SGD 5.5k
