Job Summary
You will perform safety assessments and enforce compliance to ensure safe work environments on construction sites. Collaborate with subcontractors and emergency services to uphold safety standards and prevent incidents.
Responsibilities
- Perform safety assessments for the Permit-To-Work system to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
- Inspect worksites to identify and rectify unsafe conditions and unsafe practices promptly
- Verify subcontractors adherence to statutory Acts and Regulations through regular inspections
- Coordinate with subcontractors to monitor and improve safety practices on site
- Support the Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) in organizing safety awareness activities including toolbox meetings, orientations, training, and promotional events
- Maintain accurate records of personal protective equipment issuance to ensure accountability
- Monitor supervisors and workers to confirm adherence to safe work procedures and compliance requirements
- Investigate site incidents and accidents, analyze causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Develop and coordinate emergency preparedness procedures in collaboration with Police, Emergency Response, Medical Services, and contractors
- Enforce all safety requirements and internal safety policies consistently across the site
Required competencies and certifications
- Certificate in Safety Coordinators Course from approved institutes
- Confined Space Assessor certificate
- Work at Height Assessor certificate
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in LTA projects or building construction industry
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
- Availability to join on short notice
