WOODWORKING TECHNICIAN

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and run woodworking tools, such as CNC machines, routers, planers, saws, and edge banding machines.
• Cut, shape, sand, and join wood, plywood, laminates, and MDF to build cabinets, doors, and furniture.
• Read and follow blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
• Perform on-site installation, adjustments, surface sanding, and oiling.
• Keep the workspace clean, maintain tools, and troubleshoot basic machine issues.

Job Requirements

• Practical background in furniture manufacturing, carpentry, or workshop maintenance (typically 1 to 3 years).
• Strong knowledge of wood properties, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Certification in carpentry, vocational training, or mechanical/manufacturing technology is often preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in environments with noise and wood dust.
