Windows/VMWare Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server and VMware ESXi environments.
• Manage Windows OS and VMware ESXi patching, security updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Perform patch assessments and recommend deployment plans based on security and operational requirements.
• Use patch management tools such as BigFix and SCCM to deploy and track patches.
• Conduct pre-patching and post-patching checks and automate routine patching tasks.
• Administer Active Directory, including organizational units (OUs), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), domains, and forests.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines using VMware and Hyper-V.
• Troubleshoot Windows OS, VMware, and virtualization-related issues.
• Support server hardware maintenance, firmware and BIOS upgrades, and basic RAID and clustering operations.
• Monitor system logs, server health, and patch compliance.
• Follow change management procedures and support SLA-driven operations, including weekend shifts and on-call support.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of experience in Windows System Administration.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 and VMware ESXi.
• Strong experience in OS and ESXi patching, vulnerability management, and patch assessment.
• Experience with patch management tools such as BigFix, SCCM, or equivalent tools.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, domain and forest management.
• Experience deploying and managing virtual machines using VMware and Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of pre-patching and post-patching validation and automation.
• Basic knowledge of RAID technologies, clustering, BIOS upgrades, and firmware management.
• Strong troubleshooting, log monitoring, and server maintenance skills.
• Experience working in an SLA-driven environment, with flexibility to work weekends and provide on-call support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
