How You Succeed
As an AVP, Infrastructure Services - Windows Server Management, you will be part of the Wintel RUN team of OCBC, managing Windows based Server Infrastructure. The role will involve the setup in project phase, maintenance of the server in Day-2 operations and detection and recovery aspects of Windows Server fleet of the bank, both on-prem and Cloud. We are looking for a candidate who can involve in end-to-end lifecycle of the server. Candidate should be able to provide technical guidance and resolution by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex computer systems. An ideal candidate should be able to provide direction and solutions that enhance mission-critical operations of the bank and ensure customer is able to bank with us 24/7/365. Candidate should be able to work with multiple stakeholders within the bank to review and resolve issues, act as the escalation point and do cross-team collaboration like SQL, Storage, Network & Application teams and identify root cause. You should be able to perform troubleshooting and related analyses; escalates issues as appropriate and able to serve as the escalation point for highly complex issues.
What You Do
- Reviews complex issues (e.g., multiple components of a Windows Servers) and work with internal stake holders and external vendors to resolve such complex issues. Ensures proper communication to the management on the status of the issue.
- Ownership of ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery within the Infrastructure Services and provide recommendations and implementation of business recovery strategy for the purpose of resuming operations of system architecture and operations in the event of a disaster.
- Provide oversight and ownership of the system infrastructure ensuring proper configuration, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of servers and related components, thereby ensuring these vital services are optimized and always on.
- In case of any new tools/technology enhancement/infra implementation, work with respective vendors/team to analyse and conclude/implement whatever best suits for the infra.
- Ensure Service Improvement plans are implemented to reduce system alerts, reduce incidents, and make a stable environment.
- Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing infrastructure environments through the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of well documented standards and procedures.
- Able to perform Root cause analysis using the tools (Fishbone, FMEA, Scatter Plot, 5 Why etc) and provide detailed reports and action plan.
- Resolves issues through problem solving, collaboration, and research.
- Able to lead the implementation of knowledge sharing or technical document creation, brown bag sessions.
- Performs in-depth product troubleshooting and remediation when needed.
- Lead automation of tasks/processes. Develop PowerShell scripts (or any other scripting language) to automate BAU Tasks and enhance the infra
- SE will also be working on HCL BigFix Automation and scripting on day to day- BigFix Patching and Compliance module.
- Mentors new Technical Support Engineers. Develops intermediate level competence on support topics.
- Collaborates on cross-team like SQL, Storage, Network & Application teams and cross-product technical issues by working with staffs within OCBC Group.
Who You Are
10+ years of experience on relevant field of work is required.
Must Have Proven Troubleshooting Experience And Strong Understanding Of:
- Windows Servers Administration & Configuration- Windows 2K12,2K16,2K19, 2K25
- Hands on in VMware ESXi Configuration, upgrades, and Troubleshooting.
- Experience with VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere, venter management suite, VROPS.
- In-depth knowledge & hands on in Microsoft Failover Clustering (Active-Passive and Always on)- build, configurations & troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge on Windows internals, performance analysis & troubleshooting
- Experience in Windows patch mgmt. using any common established software/tool.
- Good knowledge & hands on in PowerShell & scripting
- Experience in HCL BigFix Patching & Compliance modules and automation
- Should have good understanding of Storage technologies and concepts like replication, disk configurations etc. Preferably hands on in Huawei & Hitachi storage.
- Knowledge on HPE Blade / Rackmount Systems and configurations.
- Knowledge of server hardware, firmware's & drivers upgrades.
- Troubleshooting hangs and crashes in Windows Server Environment
- Windows Update Management and related troubleshooting
- Windows Deployment Image Servicing and Management
- Knowledge of Storage and network from Windows/Platform perspective
- Experience in engineering the server images, hardening, and testing of the Server images.
- Troubleshooting performance issues using PerfMon and other tools.
- Exceptional teamwork and excellent interpersonal and communication / information sharing skills with sense of responsibility, attention to detail and proactive management as well as strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
Additional /Preferred Skills And Expectation
- Experience with Ansible, Integration with Jenkins
- Experience in HCL BigFix- Patching Solutions
- Experience with IaaC.
- Veritas Cluster Management
- Certifications on Microsoft and VMware
- ITIL certification.
- Active Directory topology and management
- Network Tracing and analysis
- Experience on Elastic Search would be advantage.
- This role does not require work in shift, but staff activation may be required during incidents.
