The Wholesale Trade Salesman is responsible for promoting, selling, and distributing a wide range of goods to retailers, distributors, and business clients. The role involves maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets in a competitive wholesale trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell a variety of wholesale products to customers and business partners
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities and potential clients
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business
- Handle customer enquiries, quotations, and order processing
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for timely delivery of goods
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management
- Prepare sales reports and update management on business performance
- Ensure proper documentation of sales transactions and customer records
- Collect payments and follow up on outstanding accounts when required
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum Secondary / High School education or equivalent
- Prior experience in wholesale, trading, or sales preferred
- Experience in general goods trading is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, email, order systems)
- Good understanding of wholesale market operations
- Ability to handle multiple product categories
- Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented
