Job Description

Job Summary

Lead and execute trade marketing strategies for frozen food products, manage import/export and sourcing operations, oversee meat cutting workflows, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and drive sales growth through customer and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute trade marketing plans for frozen food products, including promotional activities, pricing strategies, and product positioning to drive sales growth
  • Manage import and export operations to meet high customer service and response standards
  • Negotiate prices, packaging, and delivery methods to optimize sourcing and distribution of frozen food products
  • Direct workflows of meat cutters and meat/seafood clerks to ensure products meet company quality standards
  • Follow and enforce organic standards procedures related to cutting, preparing, displaying, and storing meat products
  • Implement promotional events and marketing blitzes to promote vendor deals and achieve sales targets on featured items
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety requirements for meat storage and handling
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including food safety and quality standards
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers to support business growth
  • Receive, inspect, and record product consignments for accuracy, temperature control, and quality assurance
  • Analyze market research and trends to assess consumer demand, sales potential, and competitor impact
  • Oversee budgeting for trade marketing activities to ensure efficient and effective resource use
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to maintain adequate inventory levels and manage stock rotations
  • Track competitor pricing, product innovations, and distribution strategies to maintain market competitiveness
  • Identify and develop new wholesale channels, including regional distributors, international markets, and online B2B platforms
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in B2B sales, particularly in wholesale or distribution sectors
  • Valid 2A/2B/Class 3 driving license with willingness to travel as required
  • Knowledge of frozen food products, storage, transportation, and cold chain management
  • Understanding of shipping operations including import and export
  • Ability to control storage room temperatures for frozen products
  • Familiarity with food handling processes and compliance with food safety standards
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays, with capacity for prolonged standing and working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet timelines effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in wholesale/retail packaging, especially in frozen meat manufacturing
  • 2A/2B/ Class 3 compulsory. Preferably possess own transport. (Required to travel from time to time)
