Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and passionate Western Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience preparing a variety of Western cuisine dishes, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation and working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Western dishes including appetizers, mains, desserts and sauces according to standard recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared with high quality, taste and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following all food safety regulations.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development and portion control.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and tools in proper working condition.
- Adhere to cost control guidelines and minimize wastage.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Western Cuisine Chef in hotels, restaurants, or catering services.
- Knowledge of Western cooking techniques, ingredients and plating presentation.
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or relevant food preparation training is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends and public holidays if required.
