About the Role
The Warehousing Assistant / Technician supports the smooth operation of the company's automatic door business by managing inventory, preparing materials for installations and servicing works, and carrying out basic technical and assembly tasks. This role bridges warehouse operations and on-site technical support, ensuring technicians are well-equipped and materials are properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Receive, check, and record incoming goods (automatic door parts, sensors, motors, control boards, accessories).
- Perform proper storage, labelling, and organisation of inventory in the warehouse.
- Prepare and issue materials, tools, and equipment for installation and servicing teams.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist in inventory audits.
- Identify low-stock or obsolete items and report to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the warehouse.
Technical & Assembly Support
- Assist with basic assembly and pre-installation preparation of automatic door components.
- Carry out simple testing of motors, sensors, control panels, and accessories under guidance.
- Support minor repair, troubleshooting, and refurbishment of returned or faulty parts.
- Assist technicians during ad-hoc site works when required.
Logistics & Support Functions
- Pack and prepare items for delivery to sites or customers.
- Coordinate with drivers or couriers for deliveries and collections.
- Maintain records of issued, returned, or replaced components.
- Assist in tracking tools and company assets used by technicians.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow workplace safety procedures and handling guidelines for electrical and mechanical parts.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely stored.
- Adhere to company SOPs, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- NITEC / Higher NITEC / ITE / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related fields preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, technical support, or M&E-related roles is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with hands-on aptitude are welcome.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical components (training will be provided).
- Comfortable handling tools and technical equipment.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and physically fit for warehouse work.
- Able to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Willingness to learn automatic door systems and on-site operations.
Other Requirements
- Willing to work 5.5 days per week (meaning, Saturdays are half day).
- Valid Class 3 driving licence is an advantage (not compulsory).
- Willing to support occasional on-site works or after-hours tasks when required.
