Job Description:
1. Onboarding & Ground Training
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for all new warehouse staff, ensuring they are integrated into the culture and safety protocols from day one.
- Conduct hands-on, on-the-floor training for core warehouse functions (receiving, picking, packing, and shipping).
- Standardize training modules to ensure every worker, regardless of shift, receives the same high-quality instruction.
2. WMS & Technical Mastery
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Train staff on handheld scanners, desktop interfaces, and system-driven workflows to minimize data entry errors and inventory discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot common user errors in the WMS and provide just-in-time retraining where needed.
3. Strategic L&D Planning
- Collaborate with the corporate L&D Team to align warehouse training with broader organizational goals.
- Identify skills gaps within the current team and develop targeted training interventions.
- Maintain a training matrix to track certifications, equipment licenses (e.g., forklift), and refresher course deadlines.
4. Performance & Quality Control
- Monitor the Time to Productivity for new hires, ensuring they hit performance benchmarks within the expected timeframe.
- Conduct regular audits of ground operations to ensure staff are following the Principle Methods (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Provide feedback to warehouse leads regarding staff performance and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a dedicated training or supervisory role.
- Advanced knowledge of WMS logic (e.g., SAP, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or Oracle) is essential.
- Ability to translate complex technical processes into simple, actionable steps for a diverse workforce.
- Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules without disrupting high-volume warehouse output.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
