The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading day‑to‑day security operations at the Distribution Centre, ensuring a safe, compliant, and secure environment for people, assets, cargo, and critical operations.
This role oversees the performance of contracted security personnel, manages the command-and-control functions onsite, and ensures adherence to Maersk Global Security requirements and recognized industry standards (e.g., TAPA, C‑TPAT).
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations &Command Centre Leadership
- Lead and supervise all on‑site security operations.
- Monitor screening, access control, CCTV, electronic security systems, and physical security infrastructure, ensuring full operational readiness.
- Align with security vendor on security priorities and incident learnings.
- Oversee perimeter control in accordance with Maersk and regulatory requirements.
2. Vendor Performance Management
- Coordinate and validate manpower deployment to ensure full shift coverage and operational continuity.
- Verify competency, performance and provide coaching or corrective guidance where required.
- Ensure security agency compliance with PLRD licensing obligations, and site‑specific SOPs.
3. Incident Management &Reporting
- Oversee and lead the initial response to security incidents within the DC, conduct preliminary investigations, secure evidence, and compile timely incident reports.
- Escalate major incidents to Security Management according to Maersk escalation protocols and customer requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation in digital logs and audit records.
- Lead escalation to senior management, customers, regulators, where required
4. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
- Execute routine inspections and audits to ensure physical security, systems, and operational processes remain compliant and effective.
- Conduct security risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures aligned with Maersk Global Security Standards and TAPA/CTPAT expectations.
- Maintain and validate all documentation associated with internal and external compliance frameworks (e.g., TAPA FSR, C‑TPAT,customer audits).
- Ensure end‑to‑end compliance, risk ownership, and continual improvement of security and resilience capabilities aligned with Maersk Global Standards
- Ensure audit readiness, evidence integrity, and sustained compliance, not just point‑in‑time closure
5. Visitor, Contractor & Event Security Coordination
- Plan and oversee security arrangements for VIP visits, customer engagements, and high‑traffic operational periods with the security vendor.
- Coordinate crowd control, traffic flow, and emergency access routes with outsourced security teams and internal stakeholders.
- Support business continuity preparedness by ensuring emergency response readiness and participating in drills and exercises.
6. Continuous Improvement & SOP Governance
- Review, update, and enhance Site Security SOPs to reflect operational changes, audit findings, and emerging risks.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in security processes, technology utilization, and workforce capability.
- Support security training needs analysis and contribute to upskilling initiatives for both internal and outsourced personnel.
- Drive security maturity enhancements
- Engage site leadership to ensure security is embedded into operational decision‑making
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2-6 years of supervisory experience in security operations within a logistics, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Valid PLRD Security License and Security Supervisory certification.
- Strong proficiency in CCTV operations, electronic security systems, and command-centre monitoring tools.
- Self‑driven, disciplined, and capable of leading shift teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Demonstrated exposure to audits, investigations, vendor management
- Demonstrated experience in putting in place security improvement using technology.
- Experience in driving cost optimization initiatives.
