Role Summary
The Warehouse & Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse operations and spare parts sales management. This role ensures efficient inventory control, optimized warehouse processes, strong customer satisfaction, and revenue growth through effective parts sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Establish and optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and workflows to maximize efficiency, particularly for heavy components.
- Oversee the full spectrum of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of parts.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of equipment and materials.
2. Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy within the WMS/ERP system through regular cycle counts and perpetual inventory audits.
- Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Set, monitor, and optimize minimum and maximum stock levels to balance availability and minimize obsolescence.
- Manage inventory turnover and ensure optimal stock holding levels aligned with business needs.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of spare parts, from procurement through to delivery.
3. Parts Sales & Commercial Management
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for parts and accessories, including online sales channels.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pricing data across systems.
- Prepare competitive quotations and proposals and proactively follow up on high-value opportunities.
- Manage the full parts sales cycle, from initial customer inquiry to order fulfilment.
- Develop and execute sales plans, campaigns, and promotions to achieve revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and identify opportunities to grow the parts business.
- Analyse customer requirements and recommend appropriate parts solutions.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (sales, service, procurement, finance) to ensure parts availability and support overall sales targets.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and import/export requirements.
5. Customer Satisfaction & Service Excellence
- Ensure fast, accurate, and reliable fulfilment of customer orders to enhance client satisfaction.
- Address customer issues or escalations related to parts availability, delivery, or quality.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and train warehouse and parts personnel to build a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor team performance and implement development plans where necessary.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management and parts sales operations.
8. Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management and/or parts sales, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS/ERP).
- Commercial acumen with experience in pricing and sales strategy.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
