The position
You will plan and manage the purchase, storage and distribution of components, equipment and goods from point of origin to assembly and to point of delivering ensuring an optimum coordination between supply and demand within and across the company and its suppliers, channel partners and clients in the most cost efficient manner, ensuring quality and compliancy with health and safety policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Unloading of incoming goods.
- Unpacking, inspection and stocking of incoming goods into store and enter inventory into SAP.
- Issue components with pick lists to Production.
- Unpacking of battery and hand to Testing for test and repack battery after test.
- Unpacking of UPS and hand to Production and Testing.
- Pick parts and pack for service orders to prepare for delivery.
- Pack completed goods and order wooden cases for housing the goods.
- Prepare packing list and submit to Shipping personnel.
- Prepare shipping marks for fixing onto wooden cases.
- Arrange vacuum packing and fumigation if required.
- Prepare battery for recharging if shelf-life has expired.
- Maintain efficient storage space.
- Maintain good housekeeping of stores.
- Arrange maintenance of forklifts, stackers, pallet trucks and material handling tools.
- Ensuring stock accuracy is at the specified levels as agreed, pro-actively addressing potential or actual
- shortages.
- Perform close liaison with other disciplines within the logistics organization as well as with other departments
- Ensure health and safety standards are achieved on an ongoing basis and actively promote individual
- responsibility for health and safety.
- Perform daily tasks as administered by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
- GCE N or O Levels or NTIEC.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
- Good working knowledge of English.
- Relevant experience in a warehouse environment and able to handle huge items.
