Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to support daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods across a diverse range of product categories including FMCG, F&B, healthcare, and general merchandise. This role requires strong discipline in inventory control, shelf-life management, and FIFO compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Inbounding
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents
- Inspect goods upon receipt for damage, quantity discrepancies, and expiry/shelf-life compliance
- Scan and record inbound stock accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Sort and putaway goods into designated storage locations in accordance with product type, handling requirements, and shelf-life priority
Outbounding
- Pick orders accurately based on picking lists or system-directed tasks
- Apply and verify correct labels, quantities, and shipment details prior to packing
- Pack orders securely using appropriate packing materials suited to the product and customer requirements
- Prepare outbound shipments for timely dispatch and hand over to drivers against delivery orders or invoices
Inventory & FIFO Control
- Strictly enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) principles across all product categories, with particular attention to shelf-life sensitive goods (e.g. food, beverages, personal care, pharmaceuticals)
- Monitor and flag products approaching expiry thresholds and escalate to the supervisor for timely action
- Assist in cycle counts, monthly stock checks, and annual stocktakes
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support reconciliation between physical stock and system data
Housekeeping & Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, including allocated storage zones and the outbound staging area
- Optimise use of storage locations through proper housekeeping and location discipline
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g. pallet jacks, trolleys) safely and responsibly
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards at all times
General
- Support ad-hoc operational tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily priorities
Job Requirements
- Minimum secondary education (GCE O Level or equivalent)
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, 3PL, FMCG, or F&B logistics preferred fresh candidates with the right attitude are welcome to apply
- Familiarity with WMS and handheld RF/barcode scanners is an advantage
- Physically fit and able to lift loads up to 25-30 kg and remain on feet for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in counting, labelling, and expiry date verification
- Able to recognise product information including manufacturing dates, batch codes, and country of origin
- Positive work attitude, team player, and willing to perform overtime when operationally required
- Comfortable working across different product environments including ambient, chilled, or cold-room conditions where applicable
