Job Description

Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans for projects or programs.
  • Define testing scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Identify and allocate required resources (personnel, tools, environments).
  • Estimate effort, timelines, and costs associated with testing activities.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage testing teams across onshore/offshore and internal/external setups.
  • Assign responsibilities based on skills and expertise.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Test Process Management

  • Define, implement, and enforce testing processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Continuously optimize processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Test Execution Oversight

  • Manage test environments and test data requirements.
  • Oversee execution of functional, regression, integration, UAT, performance, security, and other testing types.
  • Ensure testing aligns with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Track, monitor, and manage defect lifecycle for timely resolution.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all testing-related activities.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular status reports and metrics to senior management.

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with testing.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical scenarios.
  • Document and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders.

Test Automation & Tools

  • Promote test automation to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to develop and maintain automated scripts.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure testing activities meet organizational quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement preventive measures.
  • Promote a culture of quality and accountability within the team.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage budgets for testing tools, training, and resources.
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effective testing.
  • Plan for future resource needs in line with project pipelines.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into testing outcomes.
  • Track KPIs such as test coverage, defect density, and execution rates.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to improve processes and results.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure testing activities are properly documented and auditable.
  • Maintain a repository of test artifacts, including plans, cases, and results.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational compliance requirements, especially regarding data security.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software testing experience, including at least 5 years in test management roles.
  • Proven experience in large-scale digital or financial services projects, ideally involving web or mobile platforms.
  • Good leadership, team management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor, distributed testing teams.
  • Expertise in software testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, DevOps), with emphasis on Waterfall.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, ARIOS).
  • Analytical mindset with good problem-solving and continuous improvement focus.
  • Understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the financial or technology sector.
  • Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced, PMP, or Agile are desirable.
