The incumbent will provide independent oversight of UOB Group's Personal Financial Services (PFS) loan portfolio. The role involves reviewing and maintaining Group Retail Credit Policy and Process Standards, providing advisory support on policy and portfolio matters, monitoring portfolio quality across countries, and driving strategic projects leveraging data and analytics to strengthen governance and risk assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Oversight & Advisory
- Review and maintain Group Policy Standards, Frameworks, and Guidelines to ensure alignment with the Bank's credit risk appetite.
- Provide advisory support to regional countries on Group Policy and Framework-related matters.
- Provide independent recommendations on credit policy changes, credit papers, and portfolio initiatives in line with governance processes.
Portfolio Governance & Monitoring
- Collaborate with country CPG teams to review Portfolio Review Documents (PRD), credit test proposals, scorecard cut-offs, segmentation reviews, and portfolio benchmarks.
- Track and report Retail Risk Appetite (RRA), Risk Discipline Framework (RDF) metrics, and other Credit KPIs across countries.
- Monitor PFS loan portfolios to identify emerging risks and escalate as required.
- Support preparation of Quarterly Credit Review (QCR) reports for Senior Management and the Group Credit Committee.
Data-Driven Oversight & Automation
- Ensure effective portfolio monitoring and MIS tracking, driving continuous improvement through automation and process enhancements.
- Support the transition to a smart oversight model leveraging data, analytics, and advanced technologies such as Generative AI.
- Contribute to the implementation of a policy and governance platform to strengthen oversight processes.
Risk Assurance & Governance Enhancement
- Partner with internal CPG teams to strengthen independent risk assurance processes.
- Develop governance-related assurance protocols and analytics to enhance portfolio risk management.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in retail credit risk management, preferably in credit risk policy, MIS, or portfolio management of unsecured portfolios.
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, or Finance preferred.
- Regional experience and familiarity with consumer credit regulations across markets is a plus.
Technical Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAS, SQL, decision tree tools, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI) is desirable.
- Understanding of Basel Capital Rules, Credit Scorecards, and IFRS9 is an advantage.
