Excellent opportunity for an up and coming lawyer to join a dynamic organization. You will be part of an established professional team of legal counsels providing legal advice to the Bank and its group of companies (Group).
Your Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing advisory support on data privacy matters, monitoring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act
- Providing legal support in various areas, including data privacy, wholesale /retail banking transactions, operational matters and regulatory compliance. Specific coverage of segments and products will be allocated from time to time.
- Drafting, reviewing and hands-on negotiation of diverse multi-jurisdictional commercial documents and agreements
- Drafting and implementing legal policies and guidelines
- Engaging key stakeholders including business teams, product, operations, compliance, external legal counsel etc.
- Developing legal solutions that address not only legal but also regulatory and reputational risk as well as compliance with the Group policies and guidelines.
Requirements
The successful candidate should possess:
- At least 3 years of corporate legal experience gained from a combination of private practice and in-house roles, with experience in data privacy matters being an advantage
- Prior experience in drafting, review and negotiation of legal agreements.
- A degree in law from a recognized university
- Self-motivated, confident, independent and prepared to work hard with a strong track record in managing a broad range of legal issues
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Resourceful and able to work under pressure to meet competing demands.
