Business Function

Leveraging on DBS established presence across Asia, this role involves identifying new opportunities, developing tailored solutions for public sector institutions, including Sovereign Wealth Funds, Government Agencies, and other public sector entities (collectively GLC&rdquor), and managing key relationships to expand DBS's market share in Global Transaction Services. The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding and relationships of these segments, transaction banking, regulatory requirements, and digital solutions to deliver exceptional value to our GLC clients and contribute to the bank's strategic objectives, with a focus on digital, sustainability, and Asia connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the GLC segment, focusing on a full range of cash management, trade finance and securities services solution
  • Cross sell and deepen wallet share of existing GLC clients based on understanding their needs. Actively participate in the sales process from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring a smooth and efficient client experience
  • Formulate and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and other business targets within the GLC portfolio
  • Apply a consultative sales approach -continuously engage clients to keep abreast of their evolving priorities, treasury management practices to proactively position existing and emerging capabilities to address clients changing situations
  • Provide expert advisory on market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cash and trade management, and broader transaction banking solutions relevant to the GLC segment
  • Take ownership of end-to-end delivery to meet client requirements
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key influencers and senior executives within client organizations. Successful candidate should be familiar with these segments and have existing relationships
  • Act as a single point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring high service levels
  • Conduct regular reviews with clients to assess performance, identify evolving needs, and proactively offer suitable solutions
  • Champion digital solutions, including APIs and real-time payment capabilities, to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction for GLCs, and to partner governments in delivering economic reliefs and implementing key initiatives on innovation and business growth

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in transaction banking and / or corporate banking coverage, with a focus on institutional clients, particularly GLC or the public sector
  • Recognised Degree qualification in Economics/Business/Finance/Engineering, or relevant discipline. MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in transaction banking (Cash and Trade)
  • Proven track record in deal origination and execution across investment banking and corporate banking products
  • Demonstrated ability to perform within a matrix organization and regional multi-country franchise
  • In-depth understanding of cash management (e.g. liquidity management, payments, receivables), trade finance (e.g., LCs, guarantees) products and services, as well as securities services, and transactional foreign exchange
  • Ability to analyse complex client needs and design innovative, customized financial solutions, with a focus on digital, sustainability, and Asia connectivity for GLCs
  • Strong individual contributor with initiative, and collaborative to partner effectively with product and country teams. Strong driver and collaborator. Resourceful individual with an ability to partner to deliver for the GLC segment. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of ownership. Results-oriented. Structured way of working. Open-minded but anchored with professional integrity
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to develop effective marketing materials for client meetings/RFPs/pitches/etc
  • Ability to handle a multi-tasking environment, meet deadlines, and work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and accomplish a task with little supervision
