Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Origination
- Originate and grow trade finance revenue across a portfolio of Korean corporate clients, trading companies, and MNC subsidiaries.
- Identify client needs, design tailored trade finance solutions, and drive structured opportunities through to execution.
- Lead client pitches, product demonstrations, and solution workshops in collaboration with product partners.
2. Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior decisionmakers at Korean corporates across Singapore and Asia.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit, and Product teams to deliver integrated banking solutions.
- Act as the primary regional TB coverage point for Korean corporate clients, engaging both local and Korea-based stakeholders.
3. Deal Execution & Portfolio Management
- Drive end-to-end deal execution, including structuring, pricing, negotiation of documentation, and internal approvals.
- Manage the portfolio to ensure profitability, risk monitoring, and high client satisfaction.
- Track and report pipeline performance, revenue realization, and wallet-share expansion.
4. Market & Product Expertise
- Stay updated on trade flows, cross-border opportunities, regulatory changes, and Korean corporate expansion trends into Southeast Asia.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on trade finance, including:
- Supply Chain Finance
- Receivables Purchase / Forfaiting
- Documentary Trade (LCs, Guarantees)
- Distributor and Vendor Financing
- Structured Trade
- Leverage knowledge of cash management as part of broader client engagement, while maintaining trade as the primary focus.
5. Internal Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with product specialists, implementation, and operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and execution.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the Transaction Banking franchise.
- Participate in regional strategy planning, revenue forecasting, and pipeline prioritization.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- 8-15 years of relevant experience in Transaction Banking, with a strong emphasis on Trade Finance sales.
- Proven track record of originating and closing complex trade finance transactions.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end trade operations, risk participation, structuring, and credit fundamentals.
- Experience working with Korean clients or the ability to develop relationships within the Korean corporate ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Korean is highly advantageous, though not mandatory, to engage key stakeholders.
