Role Overview

The VP/AVP, Production is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of location based entertainment projects and experiences across the company's portfolio. This role works closely with Production leadership (including the EVP, Production), as well as Creative, Technical, Operations, Business and Executive teams to deliver high-quality experiences and exhibitions on time and on budget.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience in production management or project management, exceptional attention to detail, a strong analytical mindset, and a leadership style that supports collaboration across disciplines. Experience overseeing technical areas - such as show control, audio, video, lighting, and controls (AVLC) - is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, support, and orchestrate a multidisciplinary team of production managers, creatives, and technical teams.
  • Mentor and develop talent, fostering a high-performance, solutions-oriented culture.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritization, and decision-making across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Production Oversight

  • Develop, maintain, and manage production schedules and timelines for a range of experiences and exhibitions.
  • Align production needs with creative intent, technical requirements, and operational goals.
  • Oversee resource planning, including staffing, equipment, materials, and vendor engagement.

Execution & Delivery

  • Monitor progress across all production workstreams, identifying risks early and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation and support budget development through detailed production insights.
  • Uphold quality standards across all deliverables, ensuring projects open on time and perform reliably.

Documentation & Vendor Coordination

  • Maintain accurate production documentation, reports, and trackers.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and freelancers to ensure timely, high-quality outputs.
  • Support procurement and contract discussions with an understanding of production needs and constraints.

Process & Workflow Optimization

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements.
  • Champion best practices in production planning, communication, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Support long-term production strategy and roadmap development.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in production management or project management, preferably within experiences, exhibitions, entertainment, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional production teams.
  • Strong project management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate effectively across creative, technical, and leadership groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects under tight deadlines.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Preferred

  • Experience with experiential, entertainment, cultural, or exhibition environments.
  • Familiarity with AVLC systems, show control, or technical production workflows.
  • Understanding of end-to-end production processes.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is welcome but not required; equivalent professional experience is valued.
