The English Language and Literature Department (ELL) at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified individuals to apply for the Visiting Professor position in Applied Linguistics. As one of the most highly ranked education institutions in the world, NIE is at the forefront of education research. Requirements
We are seeking individuals with expertise and a proven track record in fields related to applied linguistics and with relevant PhD qualifications. They should demonstrate an excellent record of scholarly achievement and leadership, with expertise that will advance the department's teaching and research missions.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as related activities such as thesis examination
contribute to the activities organized by one of the research groups in the department
deliver research seminars for ELL faculty
organize a research panel with ELL faculty at a local or regional conference or a webinar (if feasible)
deliver 1-2 Professional Development sessions for ELL doctoral students about publishing and life in academia (or similar)
participate in departmental events and activities, including attending talks and seminars
provide mentoring sessions for ELL faculty and doctoral students.
Emoluments
The commencing salary will depend on the candidates qualifications, experience, and the level of appointment offered.
