Job Description

Role Objective

To strategically partner with the business, offering insights and support in people-related decisions to enhance organisational effectiveness and employee engagement. This role involves aligning initiatives and projects with business goals, delivering both the Global and APAC People and Culture Strategy, and ensuring the effective implementation of HR practices. Additionally, it focuses on collaborating with the wider People and Culture team to provide superior service and minimize risk.

Key Result Areas

Strategic HR & talent partnering

. Support the Executive Leadership team with people insights and decision-making

. Attend leadership meetings to contribute to the portfolios people agenda with meaningful people data and analysis

. Contribute to and implement the People and Culture strategy across the portfolio to achieve strategic people outcomes

Reward & recognition

. Implement reward and recognition strategies that align with the central direction and organisation's goals and culture

. Oversee the administration of reward and recognition programs, including bonuses, incentives etc ensuring that programs are executed consistently and fairly across the portfolio

. Foster a culture of recognition by promoting and supporting initiatives that celebrate employee achievements and contributions

. Work with leaders to identify and implement recognition opportunities that enhance employee engagement and motivation

. Ensure all reward and recognition practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and align to centrally directed remuneration frameworks

Training & development

. Delivery of relevant training and development to managers and leaders in areas related to HR

. Identify unique learning needs of the portfolio and collaborate with the L&D Centre of Excellence to address them

Career development & talent management

. Conduct quarterly reviews within portfolio to ensure effective execution of career development frameworks, surfacing of people related data and connectivity with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning initiatives

. Management of succession planning frameworks for portfolio, including the identification of Director-level CAPs

. Management of senior appointments processes for relevant portfolio working in partnership with Talent Acquisition

Organisational design

. Lead and support business change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption

. Provide support and guidance on restructuring and organisational design initiatives in order to optimise organisational effectiveness

. Collaborate with business leaders to assess current and future workforce needs and develop plans to address gaps and ensure the business has the right talent in place

. Define and clarify roles and responsibilities within portfolio to ensure alignment with the organisations strategic goals

. Ensure that all organisational redesign work aligns with the strategic direction of the APAC and global Hays business

Performance

. Oversee the management of the performance framework for portfolio

. Provide coaching to leaders on Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Performance Management (PM) processes and frameworks ensuring the business is delivering a best practise approach

. Drive expectations and provide clear guidance on performance lifecycle process, including probation assessments, performance frameworks and escalation processes

. Ensure processes are being conducted in line with legislative requirements

Employee relations

. Work with the central HR team to ensure internal employee relations issues are addressed and resolved in accordance with Hays policies and procedures

. Advise and coach business leaders on high-risk practices, considering commercial, legal, and potential risk implications to enhance leadership capability

. Operate within the Authority Map for escalations

. Oversee and where required conduct investigations for complex complaints or grievances

. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people in the workplace and manage risk for Hays in conjunction with HR Central Services

. Ensure compliance with relevant industrial and employment relations legislation

Projects

. Participate and where required project manage the delivery of People and Culture projects with a focus on ensuring projects are executed once and well for the APAC region

. Ensure all initiated projects align with and advance either the Global or APAC People and Culture Strategy

. Produce and adhere to comprehensive project and communication plans to ensure key milestones are met, key stakeholders are considered, and to determine the direction, approach and possible risks of a project

. Work within the Hays change management methodology in the delivery of HR Projects, conducting post implementation review and providing attention to the sustain phase

. Engage and influence leaders in the business, utilising opportunities to influence and drive forward the People and Culture Strategy

Colleague experience

. Deliver employee engagement strategies and initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience

. Deliver employee engagement surveys and support the implementation of action plans agreed at an ELT level

Health & Safety

. Lead a team culture that is committed to ensuring a safe work environment by promoting Health and Safety (H&S) initiatives to meet due diligence obligations and drive continual improvement

. Ensure implementation of H&S objectives

. Ensure the work environment and work practices are safe and comply with Hays policies and procedures and empowers workers to cease unsafe activities

. Ensure all workers are correctly inducted and can demonstrate an understanding of their H&S responsibilities

. Ensure adequate training, supervision and information is provided to all employees and temporary/contract workers to enable them to perform their work tasks in a safe manner

. Ensure H&S is included as a regular agenda item in team/office meetings

. Keep yourself informed of H&S legislation, risks and controls pertaining to your area of responsibility

. Ensure all injuries, incidents, accidents and hazards are reported to the H&S team immediately and corrective action is taken

. Ensure adequate resources are made available to enable effective H&S management

. Ensure that consultation and communication mechanisms are implemented

. For your area of responsibility review internal H&S and audit compliance reports and assess performance against H&S objectives, communicate results and ensure corrective actions are taken

. Ensure the business is meeting its responsibilities regarding temporary/contract workers as outlined in the Critical Processes MS-018
