Group Technology and Operations (TO) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble, and resilient infrastructure. Through a strong focus on productivity, quality, technology, people capability, and innovation, Group TO manages the majority of the bank's operational processes and inspires excellence across multiple banking delivery channels.
We are looking for a Virtualization Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology unit. The role focuses on building, deploying, and operating enterprise-grade virtualization platforms that support critical banking applications.
Build, deploy, and operate virtualization platforms including AIX PowerVM, Oracle/RedHat KVM, and VMware.
Manage end-to-end virtualization infrastructure delivery:
Deployment planning
Setup and testing
Pre-production readiness
Production cutover
Ensure proper transition from Project to Operations before project closure.
Review solution design, implementation approach, and cutover strategies to ensure successful project execution.
Collaborate with Solution Engineers, Application Teams, Infrastructure SMEs, and vendors to meet project objectives and timelines.
Prepare and submit change requests and infrastructure requisitions (VM, IP/DNS/Hostname, SAN, facilities, etc.).
Deploy infrastructure in compliance with bank policies, standards, and approved designs.
Identify, manage, and escalate risks encountered during deployment and drive resolution.
Achieve SLA targets for infrastructure provisioning and project delivery.
Provision and manage VMs, including ad-hoc CPU, memory, and disk adjustments.
Perform daily health checks on virtualization platforms.
Conduct firmware and OS patching, including EOS/EOL upgrades.
Support VM migration across virtualization platforms.
Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve virtualization or hypervisor issues, ensuring preventive measures are implemented.
Develop automation scripts to streamline daily operational and health check tasks.
Participate in PDC/SDC migration activities.
Participate in shift rotations, including onsite critical-hour coverage and 24x7 offsite support.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Oracle/RedHat KVM
VMware virtualization
AIX PowerVM
Solid understanding of end-to-end data center infrastructure, including:
Data center facilities
Network infrastructure
Storage and SAN
Server hardware and operating systems
Middleware and databases
Operational experience supporting critical application systems is a strong advantage.
Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (e.g., shell, Python, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of application behavior.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to evolving virtualization technologies.
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
Good communication skills - able to speak and write clearly and effectively.
