Role Overview:

  • Financial reporting role within the Financial Control Division

Role Description:

  • Managing Nomura Group reporting (US GAAP) with headquarters.
  • Managing the Singapore country monthly, quarterly and annual reporting close (IFRS).
  • Close collaboration with Headquarter colleagues for Group Reporting and Management.
  • Legal Entity regulatory oversight and management for Singapore entities.
  • Transaction review and analysis including engagement with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Technical interpretation, advisory and implementation of Accounting Standards.
  • Managing key stakeholders and being a trusted partner to support business growth and initiatives.
  • Managing the monthly and quarterly taxation reporting and completion of the annual tax returns (ECI and Final tax return).
  • Managing the annual audit process for Singapore entities.
  • Leading the implementation of process and control efficiencies.
  • Effective management of the offshore team.
  • Maintain and enhance the overall control and governance framework.
  • Document and maintain process narratives and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
  • Represent Finance Control in local and regional strategic project initiatives.

Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:

  • Minimum 8 years working experience with Banks, Financial Institutions or Big Four Audit Firms.
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent Accounting qualifications).
  • Japanese language skills to coordinate with Nomura Headquarters
  • Previous experience in US GAAP and IFRS reporting.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
