Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily vessel operations, including cargo loading and discharging activities.
  • Liaise with port authorities, agents, terminals, bunker suppliers, and service providers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, voyage progress, and operational performance.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and stowage plans.
  • Support voyage planning activities, including bunker procurement and route optimisation.
  • Handle operational issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and internal databases.
  • Assist in monitoring voyage costs and operational budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable maritime regulations.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve operational processes and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in vessel operations or shipping industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with port operations and shipping documentation processes.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
