Overview
Our client is seeking a Utilities Technician I to support the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. This is an entry-level technical role responsible for routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and documentation of utility equipment while ensuring compliance with cGMP and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
Candidates must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Location: Tuas, Singapore
Duration: Until 31st December 2026
Key Responsibilities
Utility Systems Operations
- Perform routine operation and monitoring of utility systems, including boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units (AHUs).
- Conduct equipment checks and record operational parameters according to established procedures.
- Escalate equipment abnormalities and support corrective actions under supervision.
Maintenance Activities
- Execute planned preventive maintenance activities on utility equipment.
- Support maintenance troubleshooting and basic equipment repairs.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers during maintenance and shutdown activities.
Compliance & Documentation
- Complete maintenance records, logbooks, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all activities comply with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), EHS requirements, and site procedures.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and compliance initiatives as required.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Follow site safety requirements and promote a safe working environment.
- Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, ITE Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of working experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, process manufacturing, semiconductor, power generation, or related industries.
- Basic understanding of utility systems such as boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and AHUs.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintenance instructions.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programmes and CMMS systems.
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Awareness of EHS requirements and safe work practices.
