We are looking for a Unix Engineer (Level 1) to support daily IT operations, perform system maintenance, and assist in project implementations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux platforms, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine system maintenance and ensure scheduled tasks are completed.
- Execute OS and application upgrades, updates, and patching.
- Respond to service requests, change requests, and application-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents coordinate with external vendors when required.
- Identify root causes and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Prepare and deliver incident/problem reports to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparing system documentation and ISO audit materials.
- Participate in project activities, including requirement gathering, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Support ongoing maintenance and upkeep of implemented systems.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent 2-3 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates may be considered).
- Experience supporting applications on UNIX/Linux platforms and databases.
- Certifications or training in Windows Server, UNIX/Linux, Virtualization (VM), or ITIL is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer-handling capabilities.
- Proactive, responsive, and reliable in managing tasks and incidents.
