Job Description
Responsibilities
- Administer Linux/Unix environments, including RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX servers.
- Manage OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and security updates across server environments.
- Perform patch assessments and recommend deployment plans based on security and operational requirements.
- Use patch management tools such as BigFix, SCCM, or equivalent tools to deploy and validate patches.
- Execute pre-patching and post-patching checks and automate routine patching tasks.
- Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, and patch deployment issues.
- Perform hardware and firmware patching, BIOS upgrades, and server maintenance.
- Support cluster management, RAID technologies, and high-availability environments.
- Monitor system logs, server health, and patch compliance.
- Follow change management procedures and support SLA-driven operations, including weekend shifts and on-call support.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience in Linux/Unix System Administration.
- Hands-on experience with RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, and/or AIX environments.
- Strong experience in OS patching, vulnerability management, and patch assessment.
- Experience with patch management tools such as BigFix, SCCM, or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of hardware/firmware patching, BIOS upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with pre-patching and post-patching automation.
- Basic knowledge of RAID technologies and clustering.
- Strong OS troubleshooting, log monitoring, and maintenance skills.
- Experience working in an SLA-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the flexibility to work weekends and provide on-call support.
