Underwriter (Property Facultative)

In 2016, China Re established its Singapore Branch under a license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Located in Raffles Place, the branch operates as a composite reinsurer, underwriting both general and life reinsurance across Southeast Asia.

We are now seeking to fill the following position in our Singapore team.

Underwriter (Property Facultative)

Job Description & Requirements:

The position performs an execution role in monitoring and analysing Property Facultative risks with a certain level of authority and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

. Review Property Facultative account submission

. Prepare underwriting information and quotation slip.

. Work with brokers and reinsureds to achieve account binding

. Upkeep data of bound business into system.

. Service existing portfolio of accounts

. Meet with brokers and reinsureds to explore opportunities

Requirements:

. At least 7 years general insurance industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in Property insurance/reinsurance underwriting, with a strong track record in the Asia Pacific market.

. Good understanding of the Property insurance Middle Market and SME segments within the Asia Pacific region.

. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in risk assessment and familiar with the market. Experience in pricing and modelling systems.

. Relevant professional qualifications or Bachelor degree (preferably in Science, Engineering or Business disciplines)

. Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage relationships with brokers and clients. Able to work independently and also work well in a team

. Appointment and salary depend on past work experience
