- Basic understanding of the banking domain with familiarity with card products such as credit cards and debit cards.
- Understanding of card lifecycle processes, including issuance, activation, transactions, settlements, disputes, and chargebacks.
- Knowledge of payment networks like Visa and MasterCard is considered a plus.
- Awareness of SICS (Standard Interbank Card System) or similar banking card processing systems.
- Basic understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements related to card payments.
- Knowledge of software testing fundamentals, including SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), and various types of testing such as functional, regression, integration, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
- Ability to write and execute test cases based on requirements.
- Experience in manual testing is required; automation experience is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
- Understanding of test artefacts, including test plans, test cases, and test reports (DSR).
- Basic understanding of web technologies, including HTTP, HTTPS, and APIs.
- Familiarity with card transaction flows and related messaging protocols.
This role requires a candidate with a foundational knowledge of banking and card products, a clear understanding of the card lifecycle, and experience in software testing processes. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with manual testing, have exposure to defect tracking tools, and possess a basic grasp of web technologies and card transaction protocols.
