About the Team
We're looking for a communications professional to join our Trust and Safety and Technology Comms team representing the APAC region, based in Singapore and as part of TikTok's Global Communications organisation. You'll work cross-functionally to shape messaging, manage media engagement, and develop strategies that elevate TikTok's Trust and Safety and Technology story across the region. You should be a strong writer, with good organisational skills, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively in high-stakes moments.
TikTok's APAC Trust and Safety and Technology Comms Team supports in-market teams across the region on a range of issue areas and on different product and policy updates. You'll join a team that supports and advises on reactive media handling and in-market proactive initiatives as well as developing and executing cross-regional campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Enable TikTok's APAC Trust and Safety and Technology function to protect and enhance the reputation of the business through strong media coverage
- Develop and execute cross-regional campaigns to support our communications objectives across APAC
- Support in-market teams with managing a wide range of high-profile and complex inbound press enquiries across a wide variety of topics providing insight on Trust and Safety and Technology messaging
- Work with global teams to bring new products to market across APAC
- Review and advise on proactive Trust and Safety and Technology initiatives within APAC markets
- Work in close collaboration with trust and safety, legal and government relations, providing communications counsel and support, to ensure message accuracy and consistency
- Support spokespeople in advance of media interviews, presentations, and speaking opportunities.
- Provide strategic counsel and communications expertise on product risk reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Communications / Public Relations, with at least 3 years in a regional APAC or multi-market remit.
- Strong press office experience, including responsibility for media relations and crisis/issue management, ideally covering multiple markets or jurisdictions.
- Experience working in or with technology, internet, or digital platforms, with exposure to at least one of the following topics: trust & safety, online safety, platform governance, or tech regulation.
- Regional stakeholder engagement experience, including regular cross-functional collaboration with at least three of the following teams: Trust & Safety, Policy, Legal, Product, Public Policy, or Government Relations.
- Strong Written and verbal communications, including ability to engage at leadership level (e.g. executive media training, media statements, Q&A, executive briefing documents, crisis playbooks).
