Core Responsibilities
- Driving & Transport:Operate heavy vehicles such as lorries or dump trucks to move goods, liquids, or materials over short or long distances.
- Loading & Unloading:Safely handle, load, and unload cargo using appropriate lifting devices, ensuring goods are secure and protected from damage.
- Route & Schedule Management:Plan and follow efficient routes, adhering to assigned schedules and delivery timelines.
- Vehicle Maintenance:Perform routine checks, minor maintenance, and arrange for major repairs to keep the vehicle in good working order.
- Documentation:Accurately complete all necessary documents, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and invoices.
- Safety & Compliance:Adhere to all local driving regulations, traffic laws, and company policies related to vehicle operation and safety standards.
Key Requirements
- Valid Driving License:A Class 4 or Class 5 driving license is mandatory for operating heavy vehicles in Singapore.
- Physical Fitness:The ability to handle loading and unloading activities and maintain physical stamina is often required.
- Familiarity with Singapore:Knowledge of Singaporean roads, routes, and navigation is essential for efficient deliveries.
- Communication & Customer Service:Good interpersonal skills are needed for interacting with customers and clients.
Typical Duties
- Deliver goods and materials to various customer locations across the island.
- Ensure goods match the accompanying invoices and delivery orders.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly.
