We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Underwriter to join our Asia Pacific treaty underwriting team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work across multiple lines of business, including Property, Liability, Cyber, Motor, Marine, Structured Solutions, Agriculture, Accident, Health, and more. We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, embraces diversity, and is passionate about delivering innovative reinsurance solutions.

Key Accountabilities

In this critical role, you will work closely with the underwriting team to assess and manage risks while building strong relationships with clients and brokers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting high-quality underwriting analysis of reinsurance treaties, assessing complex risks, and providing clear, actionable recommendations to support business goals.

  • Managing the underwriting process from opportunity identification, data input, risk analysis, to deal conclusion, ensuring seamless operations and accurate reporting.

  • Developing strong relationships with clients and brokers, ensuring that their needs are met through proactive communication and high-level service.

  • Collaborating with the team on deal maintenance, including data management and operational processes, to ensure efficiency and accuracy in underwriting practices.

  • Providing best-in-class service to clients and brokers, representing Everest with professionalism and integrity in every interaction.

  • Contributing to business planning and research projects, staying informed of market trends and innovations that impact reinsurance practices.

  • Representing Everest at internal and external meetings, actively participating in discussions with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders.

  • Engaging in business travel as needed to support client relationships, foster business development, and attend relevant meetings.

Professional Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent technical and interpersonal skills, able to thrive in a fast-moving environment while maintaining attention to detail. The desired qualifications include:

  • 2 to 5 years of reinsurance underwriting experience in a similar role, ideally within reinsurance companies. We also welcome candidates with relevant experience from reinsurance broking firms, consulting companies, MGAs, or insurers.

  • A Bachelor's degree is required. Progress towards Actuarial, Financial, professional Insurance qualifications, or a Master's degree is highly valued.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to stay organized in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment while effectively managing competing priorities.

  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to take initiative and operate independently while upholding the highest ethical standards.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment where all team members can contribute and thrive.
