Role Overview
Coupang is seeking an experienced and highly self-sufficient SeniorTreasury Operations Specialist to support and execute treasury activities across Asia, with primary responsibility for Singapore and India entities. This role is strongly execution‑focused and requires a hands‑on treasury operator with deep knowledge of regional banking, payments, cash management, and regulatory requirements.
The role will serve as Coupang's sole treasury specialist in Singapore, requiring strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently while partnering closely with the global Treasury team.
Key Responsibilities :
Treasury Operations & Execution
- Execute day-to-day treasury operations for Singapore and India, including payments, cash positioning, liquidity management, and short‑term forecasting.
- Manage local and cross border banking activities, including account openings/closures, mandates, KYC documentation, and ongoing bank relationship management.
- Oversee funding execution, intercompany movements, and FX settlements in line with global treasury policies.
- Support cash flow forecasting in coordination with regional Treasury and Finance teams.
Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with internal treasury controls, approval frameworks, and regulatory requirements across Singapore and India.
- Maintain strong governance around banking access, entitlements, and payment controls.
- Partner with Legal, Tax, Accounting, and Compliance teams on regulatory, audit, and documentation matters.
Regional Support & Collaboration
- Act as regional backup support for other Asia-based treasury operations as required.
- Collaborate with global treasury colleagues across Korea, China, the U.S., and other regions on standardisation and best practices.
- Contribute regional insights on banking, payments, and regulatory developments across Asia.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Experience operating and maintaining ERP integrations, and online banking platforms.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, automation, and reporting within treasury processes.
- Support implementation of new banking structures, payment solutions, or system enhancements as the business scales.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on treasury operations experience, preferably in a multinational, technology, ecommerce, retail, or complex global organization.
- Strong working knowledge of Singapore and Indian banking systems, payment rails, FX practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience across payments, cash management, forecasting, bank account management, FX settlements, funding, and treasury controls.
- Experience working with Treasury Management Systems (TMS), cash-pooling structures, and ERP integrated treasury environments (including implementation or ongoing management) strongly preferred.
- Fluent in English additional Asian languages are a plus but not required.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take end-to-end ownership of treasury operations.
