Job Overview
The Travel Consultant is responsible for providing professional travel advice, planning, and booking services for clients. This role ensures that all travel arrangements are accurate, cost-effective, and aligned with client needs. The consultant offers expertise in destinations, itineraries, visa and insurance requirements, and delivers excellent customer service throughout the travel experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Able to plan the best and most suitable itinerary based on client's preferences, budget, and requirements.
- Serve as the contact point for prospects and customers
- Provide accurate information on destinations, visa requirements, health and safety guidelines, travel insurance, and currency exchange.
- Prepare detailed itineraries and travel documents for clients.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high level of service, seamless travel arrangements and positive customer experience
- Ensure all bookings comply with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements
- Handle changes, cancellations, and emergency travel arrangements in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new destinations, airline regulations, and promotional offers.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring repeat business and referrals.
- Able to perform after office hour duty
Requirement
- Diploma in Tourism / Travel / Leisure studies or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of corporate ticketing experience
- Strong knowledge of travel industry practices, reservation systems (Amadeus) and booking platforms
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Sales and service-oriented mindset
- An existing network of clients would be an added advantage
- Able to work independently, pleasant, patience and able to work under pressure
- Must be an excellent team player
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours when required
