About the Role
We are looking for a nurturing and motivated teacher who is keen to specialise in working with children and youths with visual impairment.
This role is ideal for educators who:
- Have teaching experience and want to deepen their impact, or
- Are seeking a meaningful career shift into special education.
Training, mentorship, and a structured professional development pathway will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualised and group instruction to children and youths with visual impairment
- Plan and prepare structured, meaningful lessons based on assessed needs
- Conduct assessments and write progress reports
- Develop and implement Individualised Education Programmes (IEPs)
- Collaborate with parents, schools, and professionals to support learners
- Assist schools with access arrangements, assistive technology, and educational planning
- Participate in outreach programmes and community events
- Maintain accurate documentation and student records
Who We Are Looking For
- Degree holder in education or a related field
- 1-3 years of teaching experience preferred (mainstream or special education)
- Fresh graduates with strong interest may be considered
- Good command of English additional languages are a plus
- Able to work well with children with special needs and their families
- Committed, empathetic, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working independently and in a team
Other Requirements
- Willing to work occasional Saturdays (with advance notice)
- Able to commute across Singapore
- Open to pursuing formal training or postgraduate studies in vision education (supported by the organisation)
