Job Description

Trainee Technology Specialist

Tekkie Help Pte Ltd is hiring a Trainee Technology Specialist to join our hands-on workshop and field team. You'll repair, upgrade and deliver customer equipment, learn on the job by shadowing senior specialists, and provide friendly, professional support to residential and small-business clients across Singapore. This is an entry level position with a pathway to more senior technology roles within the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support for Windows and macOS diagnose, repair and upgrade hardware.
  • Convert analogue media to digital, consolidate photo libraries and remove duplicates.
  • Set up and optimise Wi-Fi networks configure DNS and VPN for client access.
  • Troubleshoot and configure printers and peripherals.
  • Purchase and manage stock record and bill all work accurately in ServiceM8.
  • Deliver and collect equipment maintain tidy, safe customer sites and return equipment in excellent condition.
  • Shadow senior specialists, undertake self-directed learning and assist colleagues as needed.

Skills and attributes

  • Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of PCs and Macs.
  • Comfortable with hardware repairs, diagnostics and replacements.
  • Willingness to learn networking, VPN/DNS and printer troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service skills and respectful behaviour in customers homes.
  • Attention to detail for record keeping, billing and stock control.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly to meet customer demand.

Hours, pay and benefits

  • Working week: 5 days out of 6 (Mon-Sat) typical hours 9:00-18:00 with a 60-minute lunch. Flexible scheduling by customer demand.
  • Salary: SGD 2,000 to 2,500 per month
  • Commission: Profit-share and sales commission
  • Overtime: overtime paid or time off in lieu

Important policies

  • Must comply with Singapore PDPA and handle customer data only for the scope of work return or destroy data on termination.
  • Responsible for company equipment and stock.
  • Non-compete and client non-solicitation restrictions.
  • One month's written notice required by either party to terminate (except in gross misconduct).

  • Quarterly performance reviews and annual pay review.
  • Ongoing feedback from senior technology team
