Trading Operations - Global Trading Firm

Our client is a global trading and financial services firm looking to hire a Trading Operations Specialist to support client bookings and trade reporting for equities across the Asia Pacific region.

This role sits within a lean regional Operations team and covers the clearance, settlement and reconciliation of trades and positions on behalf of the firm's clients. It would suit someone early in their career in financial services operations who enjoys problem solving, wants direct exposure to traders and external counterparties, and is interested in working alongside engineers to automate manual processes. Please note this position requires an early shift start to align with regional market hours.

Responsibilities for the Trading Operations Specialist:

• Manage daily client bookings, trade capture and reporting for equities across Asia Pacific markets.
• Oversee the clearance, settlement and reconciliation of trades and positions, ensuring breaks are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
• Liaise with traders, finance, compliance, brokers, custodians and clients to resolve settlement and booking queries.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of books and records, escalating exceptions and potential risk items promptly.
• Work with software engineers to automate, test and improve operational workflows and controls.
• Represent the firm in direct communication with external parties, often under time pressure around market deadlines.

Requirements for the Trading Operations Specialist:

• Up to 2 years of experience in a financial services back office or operations function. Candidates at the start of their career will be considered.
• Exposure to Asia Pacific equities markets will be viewed favourably.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Analytical and problem solving ability, with the confidence to navigate systems and diagnose issues independently.
• Willingness to work early shift hours to cover regional markets.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook.
• Exposure to SQL or Python will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach and a service oriented mindset.
