A leading international agricultural commodities trading company with a strong presence in Asia is looking to strengthen its trade operations team in Singapore. This role sits close to the commercial desk and supports the end-to-end execution of physical agri trades, working closely with traders, logistics teams, and external counterparties across the full trade lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support the operational execution of physical agricultural commodities trades, from contract confirmation through to final settlement
- Coordinate import and export cargo movements, including vessel nominations, scheduling, and shipment tracking
- Liaise with surveyors, warehouses, terminals, shipping lines, agents, and trade counterparties to ensure smooth execution
- Monitor laytime, detention, and demurrage exposure where applicable
- Prepare and manage trade and shipping documentation in line with contractual terms (e.g. invoices, BLs, certificates)
- Ensure compliance with trade terms such as GAFTA / FOSFA and internal policies
- Update trading and operations systems, ensuring accurate and timely records
- Work closely with traders, logistics, risk, and finance teams to ensure seamless coordination across the trade lifecycle
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural commodities trading operations
- Experience supporting grains, oilseeds, soft commodities, or related agri products
- Familiarity with international trade terms such as GAFTA / FOSFA is preferred
- Strong understanding of cargo execution, logistics flows (bulk/containerised), and trade documentation
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment
