Trader

Job Purpose

1. Execute physical copper trades and LME derivative transactions as a trader
2. Establish and nurture client relationships
3. Develop and optimize network and relationships with Japan headquarters
4. Support onboarding and development of local staff to enhance global trading competitiveness 5. Work closely with local trading stuff and back office to ensure accurate trade booking, valuation, and reporting

Job Duties
1. Collaborate with overseas offices, business partners, and investment assets on production planning, sales strategy, and logistics coordination
2. Manage exposure and hedging strategies based on LME trends, TC/RC levels, premiums, and spreads
3. Negotiating all trade conditions with buyers and sellers.
4. Trade in domestic, import, export, and trade among several countries.
5. Reserve foreign currency exchanges
6. Assess risks related to price, FX, TC/RC, premiums, and counterparties propose appropriate hedging
7. Credit risk management and financial analysis.
8. Guidance and training of subordinates with personnel management
9. Frequent overseas business trip alone with short notice to all office
10. Manage contracts and product shipment schedule while export and import
11. Collaborate with investment assets and management teams to monitor operational performance and strengthen governance

Skills/Qualifications
1. Strong understanding of commodity markets, particularly nonferrous metals especially in copper
2. High analytical ability, commercial mindset, and strong decisionmaking skills
3. Experience in international business, negotiation, and crosscultural communication
4. Fluent in Japanese and English
5. Bachelor's degree
6. Understanding of inventory control, customs clearance, or import-export
7. Deep understanding of logistics, supply chain and Shipping market
8. Knowledge of LME/COMEX trading and hedging operations
9. Experience in Japan head office, commodity houses, or metal producers
10. Three years of experience of copper trading in Japanese headquarters
11. Knowledge about L/C, D/P, TTR bank settlement and international transportation
12. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
13. Sufficient knowledge about credit to analyze customer's financial statement
14. Knowledge about international trading including triangular trade
