Our client is a leading global financial services institution with a strong footprint across investment banking, securities, and wealth management. With operations in over 40 countries, they deliver comprehensive financial solutions to corporations, governments, and institutional investors worldwide. This opportunity is offered as a 1-year contract role based in Singapore.

As part of the firm's continued expansion in Asia, the Singapore branch is seeking a Trade Support Associate to join the Operations team. This position offers hands-on exposure to a broad suite of institutional products and extensive interaction with front-office teamsparticularly the Commodities Sales & Trading desk, which will be a key focus for this hire. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and ideal for someone looking to deepen their expertise in trade support across complex products.

Role Overview

The Trade Support Associate will manage end-to-end trade capture, reconciliation, and life-cycle management across Cash Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Listed/OTC Derivatives. With significant touchpoints across the Commodities desk, the role requires strong product awareness, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to partner closely with traders, sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute timely and accurate trade capture, verification, and life-cycle event processing
  • Work closely with the Commodities trading desk to resolve trade queries and discrepancies
  • Investigate trade breaks, coordinate resolutions with sales, trading, and external counterparties
  • Perform trade reconciliation, ensuring alignment between internal and external systems
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to support new platform rollouts and system enhancements
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Project teams to drive regulatory reform initiatives
  • Conduct daily control checks and support regulatory reporting to local regulators
  • Provide backup coverage and cross-functional support across broader Operations teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
  • 15 years of relevant experience in trade support or operations within an investment banking environment
  • Strong product knowledge in Commodities or Fixed Income OTC products is highly advantageous
  • Proven experience interacting with front office (sales/trading) and external clients
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail with strong risk and control awareness
  • Proactive, organized, and able to problem-solve in a fast-moving environment
