Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate coal shipments from load port to discharge port.
  • Liaise with counterparties, shipping agents, surveyors, and port authorities.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely cargo delivery.
  • End-to-end LC operations from drafting, negotiating, presenting, discounting and etc.
  • Track LC expiry dates, amendments, and payment timelines.
  • Handle laytime calculations.
  • Maintain laytime records for internal performance tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with shipping and trading teams to validate laytime data.
  • Ensure all trade documentation complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records in trade management systems.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on sanctions, KYC, and regulatory checks.
  • Work closely with traders, finance, legal, and risk teams to support trade lifecycle.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and service providers to resolve operational issues.
  • Update trade execution status in internal systems
  • Generate operational reports including shipment tracking, LC status, and laytime KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commodity trading operations, preferably in coal or dry bulk (open to other commodities products)
  • Strong knowledge of LC operations and UCP 600.
  • Proficient in laytime calculation.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, charter party terms, and international shipping.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and trade management systems.
