Trade Operation (Soft Commodities)

We are supporting a well-established international commodities trading organisation on a Trade Operations hire. This role sits within the execution team and is responsible for end-to-end contract execution across physical sugar trades, ensuring smooth shipment coordination, documentation, and financial settlement.

What you will be doing

• Manage full trade lifecycle for physical sugar contracts (bulk, break bulk, containers, trucks)

• Handle contract splitting and shipment planning across various origins

• Coordinate nominations, logistics, and shipping documentation

• Ensure timely invoicing and payment processing

• Manage claims and settlements (e.g. laytime, pricing adjustments)

• Liaise closely with traders, logistics, finance, and external counterparties

• Ensure all trades are executed within internal risk parameters

What we are looking for

Exposure to agri commodities

Strong understanding of:

Contract terms & trade rules (e.g. sugar associations / trade standards)

Letters of Credit (LCs)

Shipping documentation & logistics processes

Demurrage/despatch calculations
