Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Trade Strategy

  • Develop and lead the annual trade marketing plan to deliver company, channel, and brand targets.
  • Define channel and customer strategies to maximise distribution, visibility, and sales growth.

2. Data Analysis & Planning

  • Analyse market data to generate actionable insights across categories and channels.
  • Analyse pricing, SKU performance, elasticity, competitor activity, and distribution gaps to inform strategy.
  • Evaluate promotion ROI and effectiveness to optimise trade investments.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and performance reporting.

3. Trade Execution

  • Ensure effective execution of national and customer-specific trade campaigns.
  • Develop and implement channel-specific 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) guidelines.
  • Oversee POSM development and in-store visibility aligned with brand and retailer requirements.
  • Drive excellence in merchandising, planogram compliance, and retail execution standards.
  • Support new product launches with strong trade readiness (distribution, visibility, promotions).
  • Plan effective sampling strategies to drive product trial and conversion.

4. Budget & ROI Management

  • Lead annual trade marketing budget planning and allocation.
  • Monitor and optimise A&P spend to ensure strong ROI and efficient resource utilisation.

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop the trade marketing team to build strong capabilities.
  • Align team KPIs and execution plans to business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with key retailers, including trade negotiations and partnership development.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Trade Marketing experience within FMCG.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in market data (e.g., Nielsen, retail scan data).
  • Proven track record in trade planning, execution, and ROI optimisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Commercially driven, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
