Job Summary
The Trade Finance Officer supports and processesinternational trade transactions such as Letters of Credit (LC), BankGuarantees (BG), and import/export documentation. The role ensures transactionsare completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with banking and traderegulations.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate LC drafts prior issuance with the supplier and buyer and ensuring seamless transactions.
- Preparation of Shipping instructions to be sent to suppliers ensuring documents is in compliance with custom declaration at the discharge port.
- Process trade finance transactions including LC issuance, amendments, and settlements.
- Handle full set of shipping and trade documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Preparation of shipping and trading documents as per LC clause and ensure clean negotiation.
- Handle Bank Guarantees and trade financing documents if required.
- Liaise with clients, supplier, buyer, banks, and internal teams.
- Liaise with Bank on the existing and potential credit lines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and trade regulations.
- Maintain proper records and prepare reports when required.
- Assist in resolving transaction issues and discrepancies.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Finance, Business, Banking, or related field.
- Min 3 years of experience in trade finance or banking operations preferred.
- In depth knowledge of trade finance products and basic knowledge of shipping documents.
- Good attention to detail and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of LC documentation and international trade practices.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of UCP600 is required.
