Job Description
- Preparing surfaces: Tilers clean, level, and waterproof surfaces, and remove old grout and cement
- Cutting and shaping tiles: Tilers use hand and power tools to cut tiles to fit around obstacles and into tight spaces
- Creating tile beds: Tilers use tools like screeds, brushes, and trowels to form tile beds using concrete, plaster, cement, glue, or mortar
- Laying and grouting tiles: Tilers lay and grout tiles evenly and cleanly
- Installing tiles: Tilers tap tiles into place using tools to adhere them to the base
- Polishing and surfacing: Tilers polish and surface granite and marble
- Creating designs: Tilers create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles
- Working with other tradespeople: Tilers work with other tradespeople and consult with project managers and clients
- Ordering materials: Tilers order materials and parts
