Job Description

You will discharge the duties and responsibilities of the office consistent with the principles, standards accordance to the Orders and Regulations of The Salvation Army. You will conduct the affairs of the office responsibly andefficiently and motivate staff to do likewise.

You will conduct all activities of the office with a view to accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army as described in its mission statement.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows the guidelines and requirements stated in both the Memorandum of Instruction to Territorial Finance Secretaries and the Memorandum of instruction to the Territorial Financial Secretaries (for use in territories where a Secretary for Business Administration is appointed).
  • Contributes to the Organisation's strategic planning and development by keeping abreast of financial developments in the countries and providing technical advice to the management.
  • Provides leadership to the THQ Finance Department and technical advice to the Regional Finance Departments.
  • Serves as Executive Secretary to the THQ Boards and attends any other Boards/Committees as annually directed by the Chief Secretary.
  • Must assist to the utmost the international auditor during the consideration of the accounts and the financial position of the territory.
  • Responsible for assisting the TC in the compilation of the financial review that accompanies the published statements of account in the form set out in The Salvation Army Manual of Accountancy Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertakes any projects and specific duties as assigned by the management from time to time.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting CPA/CA/ACCA preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of working experience in finance
  • Strong expertise in financial controls, reporting, regulatory compliance, and audit management
  • Strong business sense, proactive in partnering the business leaders to drive business growth
  • Excellent analytical and stakeholder communication skills
