Job Description:
Our client is a leading engineering and construction company specialising in high-specification industrial facilities, including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and cleanroom projects. They are looking for an experienced Tender Manager to lead their cost estimation, tendering, and contract functions.
About the Role
As Tender Manager, you will oversee the full tender lifecycle for Architectural and M&E works in high-spec industrial projects. Reporting to the General Manager (Business Division), you will drive competitive costing and timely submissions while ensuring full contractual and commercial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end tender process - from tender briefings and site visits through to bid evaluations and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Oversee cost plans, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation take hands-on involvement in cost estimation where required
- Liaise with internal teams and external designers/consultants to support design coordination review and advise on cost implications of proposed value engineering
- Monitor market rates and conditions prepare regular reports on tender activities and performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop the tender team while driving continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies and support contract reviews, claims, and dispute resolution
- Stay current with construction industry trends and market developments
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Tender Management or Project Management within the Engineering/Construction industry, with exposure to cleanroom, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical projects
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, tender management, M&E quantity surveying, and contract administration
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tenders and prepare comprehensive technical proposals and write-ups
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project) and cost management/project scheduling tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills a collaborative team player with a customer-oriented mindset
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to lead and inspire a team
- Existing relationships with key industry players will be an advantage
