Retail Design and Space Planning
We are partnering with a leading retail landlord and mall owner to appoint an Executive level design professional into their Space Planning and Retail Design team in Singapore. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail of retail environments and tenant fit out, and who understands how good design, strong guidelines, and clear coordination directly impact store performance and customer experience.
You will work hands on across shopping malls, retail shops, and branded interiors, supporting tenant coordination, design reviews, and project execution from concept through to store opening.
This is not a senior leadership role. It is a delivery focused position suited to candidates who enjoy being involved, problem solving on the ground, and working closely with tenants, leasing teams, and centre management.
What you will be doing
- Review tenant design submissions including layouts, elevations, materials, and shopfronts, providing clear and practical feedback to support timely approvals and store openings
- Maintain and refine retail design guidelines, ensuring they remain relevant, commercial, and aligned with current retail trends and operational needs
- Work closely with Centre Management and Leasing teams to align tenant requirements, design intent, and feasibility
- Support space planning and feasibility studies for new developments and asset enhancement projects
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors on submissions, revisions, and authority requirements
- Manage architectural drawing databases and track tenant design submissions, approvals, and opening schedules
What we are looking for
- At least five years of experience in retail interior design, space planning, or tenant coordination within shopping malls or retail brands in Singapore required
- Solid understanding of local building regulations, fire safety requirements, and authority submission processes in Singapore
- Comfortable managing multiple tenant projects at the same time while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Hands on proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office, with BIM exposure an advantage
- Clear communicator who can work confidently with both technical consultants and non design stakeholders
- Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline
