The employee will support both outreach/volunteer management and programme-related functions. This includes assisting in planning and implementing inclusive activities for persons with disabilities (PWD), helping to coordinate volunteers, and engaging community partners to strengthen support for SUN-DAC's clients. Interns will work closely with staff, volunteers, and clients to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that promotes personal growth, community participation, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Recruitment and Management
- Assist to develop and execute a volunteer recruitment plan to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.
- Conduct training, orientation, and ongoing support for volunteers to prepare them to assist clients effectively.
- Create and manage volunteer schedules
2. Program Coordination
- Collaborate with the program team to identify volunteer needs for specific activities and events.
- Assist to organise and coordinate special events, workshops, and activities that promote community engagement and support for individuals with disabilities.
3. Communication
- Draft marketing materials, newsletters, and social medial content to highlight the centre's activities and volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain clear and open communication with volunteers, staff, and community partners to foster a collaborative environment.
4. Administrative Duties (Programme)
- Assist in budgeting and resource management for program activities, ensuring efficient use of funds and materials.
5. Community Engagement
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of the centre's programs and services.
- When possible, engage with families and caregivers to provide information and resources related to the centre's offerings.
6. Program Implementation
- Support the execution of programs and activities, ensuring they are conducted smoothly and effectively.
- Coordinate logistics for program activities, including materials, scheduling, and resource allocation.
